 Position:African Union Political     Specialist

The Embassy of Canada in Ethiopia is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the role of African Union Political Specialist. Candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in a field related to the position, such as political science, public administration, international affairs, economics, among others. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of three years’ experience in managing stakeholders and partner relationships, as well as relevant and significant experience workingfor an international or diplomatic organization. The candidate must also have advanced proficiency in English and French (written and spoken).

በኢትዮጵያ የካናዳ ኤምባሲ ለአፍሪካ ህብረት የፖለቲካ እስፔሻሊስትነት ብቁ እና ልምድ ያላቸውን እጩዎችን ይፈልጋል። እጩዎች ከስራ መደቡ ጋር በተያያዙ ዘርፎች ማለትም እንደ ፖለቲካል ሳይንስ፣ ህዝብ አስተዳደር፣ አለም አቀፍ ጉዳዮች፣ ኢኮኖሚክስ እና ሌሎችም ከታወቀ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የባችለር ዲግሪ ማግኘት ይጠበቅባቸዋል። በተጨማሪም እጩዎች ባለድርሻ አካላትን እና የአጋር ግንኙነቶችን በመምራት ረገድ ቢያንስ የሶስት ዓመት ልምድ እንዲሁም ለአለም አቀፍ ወይም ዲፕሎማሲያዊ ድርጅት የመሥራት ጠቃሚ እና ጠቃሚ ልምድ ሊኖራቸው ይገባል። እጩው በእንግሊዝኛ እና በፈረንሳይኛ (በፅሁፍ እና በንግግር) የላቀ ብቃት ሊኖረው ይገባል።

Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications.

Advanced level in English (written and spoken)

Advanced level in French (written and spoken)

Fluency in any additional languages commonly used at the African Union (written and spoken) (such as Arabic, Portuguese, Amharic, etc.)

Experience working in policy, project or programme analysis or delivery Experience administering or contributing to corporate/organizational social media accounts

Post Bachelor’s degree studies, such as a certificate or Master’s degree from a recognized university in a field related to the position

 Requirements:

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday  Hours of work: Monday to Thursday, 08h to 17h (8.25 hours per day), Friday 08h to 12h30 (4.5 hours per day) May be required to work overtime outside normal working hours (i.e. evenings and weekends) Must be willing and able to travel within Ethiopia and internationally. Annual leave may be restricted during busy periods due to operational requirements.
